Café Momentum is a mission-driven organization that empowers justice-involved youth in the community by providing them with essential life skills and opportunities. This project marked a transformative redesign of a website from the ground up, blending visually striking design with an intuitive user experience. Working closely with Black Sheep Agency, an incredible branding agency, we strategically united two distinct brands into a single platform and crafted a site that meets the diverse needs of various audiences. This project isn’t just about design; it’s about making a lasting impact through thoughtful work that tells their story in a way that both resonates and inspires.

An Intuitive Website for Diverse User Needs

With this project, we aimed to create a web experience that suited a diverse range of users, each with a unique set of needs. Whether it’s diners searching for restaurant information, potential donors looking to make an impact, or individuals seeking opportunities to apply for internships, we prioritized making it easy to quickly access the necessary information.

Through careful consideration of user experience and information architecture, we ensured that each audience could effortlessly navigate the website. The result is a user-centric design that ensures a smooth and engaging experience across all touchpoints.

Merging Identities into a Unified Web Experience

With two distinct brand identities, we were able to successfully merge the two into one cohesive and engaging website. The decision to unite Momentum Society with the prominent main brand, Café Momentum, was driven by the need to capitalize on Café Momentum’s traffic and streamline user experience.

As Café Momentum has stronger audience recognition, it was critical to reflect this new unified identity through a major rebrand. By incorporating fresh brand assets, we not only were able to enhance visual appeal but also ensure a transition that resonated with users and aligned with the updated brand vision.

Collaborating with a Brand Agency to Deliver a Seamless Design

This project marked an exciting opportunity for Plank to collaborate with Black Sheep Agency to offer a fresh perspective. As a result of their efforts, we had access to a vast asset library and comprehensive brand guide, which provided us with everything needed to bring the vision to life.

Throughout the process, high collaboration was required to ensure productivity and alignment between both teams. The lessons learned from this experience were invaluable, ultimately strengthening our teamwork, providing our team with new skills, and delivering a successful outcome.

About the client

Café Momentum is a mission-driven organization that is dedicated to transforming the lives of justice-involved youth by providing them with life skills, education, and employment opportunities. Through its 12-month paid internship program, participants gain valuable real-world experience in a restaurant setting while receiving professional development, financial education, and emotional support. Upon graduation, interns are placed in meaningful jobs with community partners, allowing them to build confidence, find a sense of belonging, and leave a lasting impact on their community.
